About Us

Pike Place Handyman has been serving Seattle and surrounding communities since 2006. Here's the story behind the business.

The Company

Pike Place Handyman was founded in Seattle, WA in 2006 with a straightforward goal: provide reliable home repair and maintenance services to homeowners and property managers throughout the city without the overhead and complexity of a full-scale contracting operation. Nearly two decades later, that focus hasn't changed.

The business handles a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks — drywall, carpentry, door and window work, fixture replacement, tile, deck repair, gutter cleaning, painting, and general maintenance — for residential and commercial clients across Seattle. The team is set up to take on single-item repairs as well as longer punch lists that require a full day or more on site.

One thing that distinguishes our work in Seattle is familiarity with the city's older housing stock. Many homes in Ballard, Capitol Hill, Fremont, Queen Anne, the Central District, and Beacon Hill were built before World War II and have seen multiple rounds of renovation over the decades. Repairs on these homes don't always follow the pattern you'd expect on newer construction — framing is different, materials vary, and problems can be layered. Our crews know what to look for and how to address it correctly rather than just treating the surface symptom.

We work with homeowners, property managers, and small business owners. For property managers especially, we function as a consistent, dependable maintenance partner — familiar with the workflow of coordinating with tenants, completing work within agreed windows, and providing clear documentation. We're available Mon–Fri 6:00 am to 10:00 pm and Sat–Sun 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, which gives us the flexibility to accommodate most scheduling needs.

Meet the Manager

Oliver Elliott
Manager

Oliver Elliott was born and raised in Seattle and has spent years getting to know the city's neighborhoods, homes, and the people who live in them. He got his start in home repair working alongside experienced tradespeople, picking up practical skills across plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and general maintenance. That hands-on background is what led him to launch Pike Place Handyman.

Oliver runs a straightforward operation focused on honest pricing, reliable scheduling, and quality work. Customers can expect clear communication from the first call to the final walkthrough. No upselling, no surprises on the invoice. Oliver takes pride in treating every home like it matters, because to the people living in it, it does.

He keeps the business deliberately focused — covering a wide range of handyman services without overextending into full-scale general contracting. That focus means the team can do the work they do really well, and can be honest when a project is better suited to a specialty contractor.

Our Philosophy

Honest Communication

We tell clients what a job actually involves, what it will cost, and how long it will take. If something changes mid-job, we communicate immediately. No end-of-job surprises.

Quality Over Speed

We work efficiently but don't cut corners. Proper prep, proper materials, and proper technique on every job — whether it's a small patch or a full-day project.

Scope Honesty

If a job is beyond handyman work and requires a licensed specialist, we say so clearly and point you toward the right resource. We'd rather lose the job than do it wrong.

Respect for the Home

Every home we enter belongs to someone who cares about it. We treat it accordingly — cleaning up after ourselves, taking care with finishes, and leaving the space better than we found it.
